Whenever I run into a cassette only album, they always seem to be pretty good. They're generally out of some deep dark recess of noise music, but I've also found several new age albums that are cassette only.
they make me mad because I dont wanna have to deal with another format and shipping and stuff and not getting the tape and having to get in touch, it's all a hassle just because people can't handle a release not having a physical component. fortunately most of them sell digitally as well, but vitrine doesn't and it frustrates me because so much of what they put out seems like something I'd be down for.
But yeah there's a lot of labels I like that focus on cassettes, Haord and No Rent Records are really excellent.
These guys went with cassette because they couldn't afford to print vinyl. Actually sounds great on cassette, the low fidelity fits the mood of their music.
By "cassette only albums," do you mean something that was released only on cassette and never on any other format, including vinyl? I didn't even know such a thing existed.

Yeah, I meant more of when it was a viable format in the 80s; artists that release cassette omly stuff today irk me (although i just came in possession of this badass mini boombox from the early 90s that had never been used).
Im planning on getting a few that would only be availavle through cassette. I forget that eccojams is a cassette only one, good call. Ill have to check out the others.
