I keep shifting everything constantly, and I still feel like I'm lying through my teeth. Any helpful comments? Really upset.

Nope, come join me in the spiraling pit of chart depression. I'm about to shake up mine again too.

I actually can't believe it's been 3 months since I've updated mine, and looking through I'm not sure there's anything I would change.

My advice would be not to take it too seriously, do what feels 'right' and just enjoy it. A chart is self expression, so even if it isn't totally accurate to your taste, use it like a poster on your wall.

Also, keep it small. I think there's very few users on this site that can actually justify a 100-long chart. If you've heard 1,000 albums, then that's assuming 10% of those are good enough to be charted as your 'all time favourite' - that's a huge amount.

I think with everyone there's this cliff face between albums you really love, and albums you really really like - try and find that point and fill out to the nearest 10 from there. If you struggle to meet that multiple of ten, just cut it down. Then it's niiiice and clean.

Plus how often does anyone look past #30 on a chart anyway?

Hell I haven't update by best list since early January from this year. Always prefer to get to the decade and the year charts more.

Amen.

Also tell me about it - sometimes I cringe at my charts and other times I'm quite proud of them.

what the hell making a chart is easy. you just pick albums you like and put them in a list. you update it from time to time cause you discover new stuff and don't like nickelback anymore, but it's whatever man.

I suppose everybody is constantly changing their opinions of music and that's the beauty of it. Charts are great for like just seeing what albums you like but I still have no idea which I like more out of 'Queen is Dead' and 'In the aeroplane over the sea', theyre both great and I don't see the point of definitvely choosing between them. And my Charts mostly bullshit anyway
