Definitely no tie-breakers based on BEA rank. Any tied match-ups should extend until the tie is broken.

So we have a 1-1-1 tie on what to use for a tiebreaker. Anyone else want to weigh in?
I will point out that no matter what happens, someone who hasn't yet voted on the tied matches (or other matches) can request an extension before the deadline.
The match that is currently tied is #23 v. #25 (The Courtneys v. Jesca Hoop), so if anyone wants to go check those out and make this a non-issue, I'm all for it!
If no one requests an extension, matches are tied when time expires, and opinion on tiebreakers is tied at that time, I will make a decision about how to break the tie(s), using one of the three options.
Whatever we choose will apply to the rest of the tournament. However, the championship and third place matches will not use tiebreakers no matter what, and will simply continue until any ties are broken. _________________ Add me on RYM

I see wisdom/benefits in all three. Perhaps you make the final call - it looks like regardless of the choice, you can't make everyone happy.
If I were to pick though, it'd be extend the vote until it does break the tie, and if X time goes by without a tie breaker, then pick the higher ranked one... since yes, BEA already voted on it.

So long as you vote for Jesca Hoop. Kidding... not kidding.

Also does anyone need an extension? If so, let me know before 11:59 PM EST on October 2. |
At this risk of knocking my own choice out of the competition how about using the average album rating for each one. Jesca Hoop (76) beats Courtneys (75) ?

I agree that this makes sense.
But also, The Courtneys v. Jesca Hoop is one of only two matches I haven't voted in yet (I won't need an extension, I'll get to it today or tomorrow), so I guess my vote will break the tie anyway, unless someone else also hasn't voted yet and votes in a way that cancels mine out.

The sweet sixteen round is up! Given that most of us have already heard all the albums by now, this will last only seven days to start. However, extensions will be available for those who would like more time.
It was a wild first round featuring six upsets. How did your choices fare in the first round? Mine were 8-8.
It's interesting to see which genres are doing well so far, and which are not. Out of the six hip-hop albums nominated, just one made it to the second round. Meanwhile, the second round features four folk albums out of six nominated. _________________ Add me on RYM
