- Post subject: Playlist: Independent Musicians and Good Music
|
I mentioned that I’d like to support more independent musicians, so here is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. This playlist could be called “Music I Like” instead, but I really think that I put something nice together here. Goes back to all my skillz making mix tapes for girlfriends in the 80s. Ha!
Anyway, if you’re on this playlist and don’t want to be, PM me and we can argue about it. Also, please suggest other music I can add. Note: This is “my” playlist, so it’s got to be music I listen to. I don’t like everything, sorry!
(The artists on this playlist are here on BEA, also some on RYM, some I know IRL.)
Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/user/ochodemay...sFFlRiyzdk iNcDf3Sw
Amazon: https://music.amazon.com/user-playlists...=dm_sh_syC 1TdXrTTqGvdIkkKxRcsQIS
Deezer: http://www.deezer.com/playlist/5306019882
(These are all identical. I’ll be duplicating them on Apple Music and YouTube too.)
Go listen! It’s only an hour of your life, and you’ll like it. _________________ Some New Ordeal (Spotify/iTunes/Deezer)

A noble effort but you'll be able to directly support and interact with (!) a wider range of self-supported, self-released musicians through a platform like bandcamp rather than these more corporate things.

You’re right. (Someone else is more than welcome to duplicate this on bandcamp minus at least one of the artists who aren’t on it, me.)
I’m hoping with at least Spotify and Apple Music that it reaches more people who would never know bandcamp exists.
Edit to add: If you do put this on bc, please consider adding a track from https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album...e-easter/, which isn’t anywhere else.) _________________ Some New Ordeal (Spotify/iTunes/Deezer)

Can you make playlists on Bandcamp now? That’s news to me. And as someone who has stuff on Spotify, I’ve made almost just as much there as on Bandcamp over the years. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

I'm going to be adding much more to this playlist, so be sure to 'follow' it and listen. It helps all the artists on the list to get new listeners and raise their profile. _________________ Some New Ordeal (Spotify/iTunes/Deezer)

It is indeed named after the Pavement song! Good eye. _________________ Some New Ordeal (Spotify/iTunes/Deezer)
