Yes of /ourse I adore Let's Eat Grandma and no, not be/ause I'm a pervert, this is definitely among the sweeter if milder tra/ks of I'm All Ears whi/h may la/k the tekno jam-meets-thin-lizzy-riffs of "Donnie Darko" or the more stirring emotional moments of "Ava" and "I Will Be Waiting", but it's definitely grown on me. I like the spiritualized trak but like the album itself didn't quite get into it as mu/h as I wanted or expe/ted to.
So, despite enjoying their last record and being vaguely aware of the critical acclaim surrounding this one, I ignored the new Let's Eat Grandma album, but both songs in this tournament are excellent and so now I have to check the whole thing out. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Also, 'The Morning After' is by far the most irritating thing on that otherwise excellent Spiritualized record. I'm actually baffled that somebody listened to that album and thought that this was the best song, when literally every other song is miles more charming. Diff'rent strokes, and all that. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
A super easy vote for Spiritualized here. I can generally take 'em or leave 'em, but this is easily one of their more interesting cuts, and waaaaay easily more interesting than the competition.
spirtualized are a great band, but this song is wholly on cruise control with arrangements and production that are lacking -- sucks that its up against one of the more intricately produced songs of 2018 (even if it isnt as daring or innovative as people think it is)
