Now this one is really tough. Not that it matters. Voidz is dealing with with being associated with a band that is way past its expiration date even though its take on indie rock is fresh and innovative and not quite anything I've heard on a Strokes album before. One of my favorite albums from last year.
Meanwhile, Ex:Re is harnassing the power of peak 90s Cat Power. That's pretty awesome too. I worship Cat Power far more than The Strokes who I thought only had one essential album.
Anyways, both great. Will probably vote vor The Voidz since I played that album a shitload in my car last year.
I should also point out that Pyramid of Bones is one of the weaker songs on this album imo. - it kind of sounds like The Arctic Monkeys which isn't a compliment.

I like Pyramid of Bones but yes... in a 2002-kind of way. Despite the allusions to early Cat Power and the almost Trentemoller-style minimalist-melancholy-electronic beats, "Romance" is timeless. And just a truly beautiful song no matter when (or where) you turn in.
