This is a difficult one. 'Happy Unhappy' is super charming, and hits a lot of my twee power pop pleasure centres. DJ Koze's maximalist, polished house is most definitely not my preferred electronic music for home listening, but would be ideal at a rave; The Beths would be horrible at a rave. Maybe I'll pop a pill and come back to this. It seems only fair. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Yeah Happy Unhappy is one of the more charming and has-it's-own-special-something of these recent heavily-90s-influenced recent bands, with DJ Koze I think I would need to travel back to my 08 rave days (mainly being 21-22 again) to enjoy it properly. It's still fine but I'm feeling Happy-Unhappy today.
The Beths were one of my favorite breakout bands of 2018, and Happy Unhappy is a real standout of theirs. DJ Koze is great too, but this is lopsided for me. _________________ Add me on RYM
This is the hardest matchup of this batch for me. Pick Up has a great groove and is a bit more memorable, while Happy Unhappy is probably more fun in the moment but doesn't stick with me much. Ended up going with DJ Koze but I'd be fine with either of these winning. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
