Controversial music opinion: This is a better than any Oasis album.

You just have to imagine being a Brit at the time this came out... an almost perfect capture of life in the 90s!

I still feel ripped off the same way I did when I bought the CD in 1994. They lured me with the amazing "Boys & Girls" to buy the full album but most other songs are truly horrible. (except: To The End + Trouble In The Message Centre).

To be honest, I slightly prefer Modern Life Is Rubbish and 13, but Parklife is still an excellent album. "Bank Holiday", "London Loves", and "Trouble in the Message Centre" are all underrated songs. The fact that "This Is a Low" was never released as a single is one of the biggest crimes in music.

While Blur has some great material scattered throughout stuff with things, 13 is objectively the only good album of theirs.

I know I am in the minority, but I think their debut album Leisure is by far the best album they have done.

This.

Parklife is pribably the best britpop album from anyone because it's also the most britpop album. It's great fun but also kind of annoying and superficial at the same time. But that is what britpop was like. I agree that something like 13 has aged much better, but this album is a brilliant time capsule for the mid 90s britpop era.
