Just listened to this tonight, for the first time, as it is AOTD.
Totally brilliant, crazy and even melodic in places
The humour reminded me of old school British comedy troupe The Goons (from the 1950's).
I loved it.
Wackier than Zappa in some ways and more tuneful than Trout Mask Replica (although I've only heard that a few times. Like 3 times, I think). I still like those two geniuses (Zap + the Cap') but this is the shiz-ness!
The kind of avant-garde I could get to like a lot. I already do.

Wonderful! Their discography can be intimidating, but it's worthwhile to comb through their releases. Even the bad ones may have something to smirk at.
