There are a number of OutKast songs that could have made this a difficult choice for me against my own nomination. But I have to say, Roses is pretty overrated. I'm not sure if there's any other OutKast song I would say that about.

Yeah, 'Roses' is not the obvious Outkast choice, but it still gets my vote here against charming but cloying opposition.

Yeah Speakerboxx/the love below wasn't Outkast's best album (probs because it was really Big Boi's and Andre's first solo albums in everything but name) but in terms of copious excellent tunes it was definitely up there, though Roses def falls a bit below the middle even if it is quite hook-y. Still never as big on New Slang as others, so may have to think about this one.

I'm kinda shocked that Roses would be considered overrated. For me it would have been Hey Ya. Even thought that song is also really good. But I'd still go with Roses. Even though the Shins song is really good.

I'd have voted for either in most match-ups but I'll go with Roses. It's some goofy in a good way Prince alike fun. I'd have preferred to see Ms Jackson nominated though tbh.

This is a tough matchup... I'm not crazy about either, even if The Shins track reminds me a bit of what I like about the Beach Boys, but also kind of reminds me of a trend in music I ended up disliking in the end, even if at first I ate up, it's a luke warm thing. The Outkast track on the other hand is not the highlight of what they did in the 2000s. I go ape shit over B.O.B., Roses is just kinda cute, even if I like it fine. I possibly would have taken Ghetto Musick, The Way You Move, Hey Ya! over it... will have to think about this one...

EDIT: New Slang it is.

You are not wrong. Ms Jackson should have been in this tournament.

I LOVE New Slang (& that whole Shins debut for that matter.) Almost nominated it myself.

This makes two this round I'll sit out until, at least until I spend a little more time with each in hopes I'll take to it more, or decide I don't like it.
