Top 10+ Music, Movies, and Visual Art of the Week (2020)

NOTE: This is a log of my favorite works of music, cinema and/or visual art for the given week. The rankings here will not necessarily parallel my overall rankings, as these are only what I favored for the given week. To qualify for inclusion, the work must be rated 6.8/10 or better (or at least was at some point during the week). This log will also include updated ratings for my various lists (below the "Top 10+" section)

Below that, there will be a running listing of my "Top 50 Works of Art of the Year". This is simply a log of my favorite art over the course of this whole year, whether old or new to me. This list is cumulative, week-to-week, until its final standings at the end of the year.

Recommendations and suggestions welcome. For my criteria, go here: http://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/vi...hp?t=15503

If you liked Perfect Blue, I highly recommend Paprika from the same director. Dwarfs the somewhat similar Inception imo.
Excited to see your ratings of other anime too, like Grave of the Fireflies and Miyazaki's work.

Thanks, Paprika is definitely on my short list.

Ive seen and rated Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away some time ago way back on listology (both 7/10s). I should see them again at some point though.

Ok, I'll stop wasting my time and get right onto that Laughing

"At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Swift's You Belong With Me was voted best video by a jury that obviously had seen very few music videos in their career." Scaruffi with the zingers.

In other words, if I "mistakenly" gave it 3.5 but it really should be a 5/10, Im not going to feel like I need to make sure as a priority. This is not nearly as important a discrepancy as, say, a 7/10 that should be an 8.5/10, which would be at/near the top of my list to revisit. Im mainly revisiting film and paintings right now (with some "new"), interspersed with Classical (mainly alternate recordings of favorites). Maestro Swift is taking a backseat to Berlioz at the moment.

Am I the only one who's very confused by Scaruffi's 7/10 for Sleepless in Seattle?

That one's debatable but also remember that the rating isn't totally official and/or current until he hyperlinks it. If he hasn't done so yet, it could mean it is old and may not hold up. It might even mean it's one he hasn't seen yet (so is still just a rating averaged out by his favorite critics), and won't be truly "his" until he sees and links it. Though I would lean towards the probability that he's seen all the ones on the newest 90s lists, hyperlinked or not.
