I think it would be good if each album's page had the run-time of the album.

Then you would know how long an album is going to be when you play it.
Then I could stop looking up album length on Wikipedia, of any particular album.

This is a feature available in most streaming services - is this more for when you are doing physical media?

Hi, this was discussed quite a while back and the consensus seemed to be that this would be a lot of effort to implement with not a lot of added value.

Yes I can get it with my streaming service if I look it up on my computer Seth.

I am with Amazon Music.

Trouble is they have a lot of extended editions of albums and deluxe editions so I have to go on the Wikipedia page foe quite a few albums to find out the original run length.

Obvs I can click on the album on BEA too to see the tracks of each album.

I just felt it would be easier to show the run length on the BEA album page.

Maybe I'm just lazy.

What do other people think?

[By the way I do recognise it would be very time-consuming and I wouldn't have the time to volunteer to help to do it myself so fair enough].

Oh yeah - double whammy special delux remaster reimagined albums (Laughing) are tough because it is often hard to know th original track listing (or stuff that has alternate tracklistings.

So totally get you there.

Sometimes what I do (which is also painstaking) is create a playlist from the "double whammy special delux remaster reimagined albums" and remove the extras.

But I hear ya. I did have amazon music on my phone and didn't remember if they did or didn't say album length.

I typically use Spotify because all features except for listen counts are all there the way I like them (including run time), and then make up for album listen to counts and the such via last.fm (something I really liked from the old school iTunes... counts of track listens, etc.)

Anyway, totally get the plight. I've done this with movies... I actually look up all the run times in movies and have a spreadsheet so if I only have an hour and half, I can still watch a movie and not accidentally select a 4 hour movie just before bedtime. But yes, it's tedious to do.

RateYourMusic doesn't list album runtimes either.

I keep lists with the runtimes of movies too.

Yes RYM does, as long as people have input the runtimes for each track like they’re supposed to.

I’m on team this isn’t worth it. There are so many more worthwhile tasks to use the scarce resource of BEA data moderation on.
