In the "top bands" list, Jimi Hendrix and the Jimi Hendrix Experience are listed seperately, (along with other bands that have a member and a member's group, such as Bob Marley). These bands are always ranked very close to each other, because some music is attributed to both artists, usually with only 1 or 2 albums that don't count for one of the bands. Is there any way you could condense these into one artist?

Ya, I hate that too
Could we make it a.. EX:
"Jimi Hendrix (Experience)"
Or
Jimi Hendrix/Jimi Hendrix Experience
Or just not count the Jimi Hendrix Experience albums to Jimi Hendrix?
Same goes for all the other artists of course, but I'm not sure how it'll work with George Harrison, Paul Mc & The Wings, etc... it could get messy _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

I understand your reasoning, but in this case I really think it should be done without, and this is why:
in the case of hte beatles and john lennon, it makes sense that they are split. one album is distinctly john lennon's and one is distinctly the beatles'.
however, in this case, the only difference between the two artists is that one has a few more albums. some of the albums are counted as BOTH artists.
in this case, jimi hendrix has 11 albums and the experience has 7. jimi hendrix includes literally all of the albums that the experience has. removing the experience would serve only to declutter things, nothing more.
if you feel strongly about them being distinct, i would assign each album to only one artist, rather than having some go to both.
this is also the case for bob marley/the wailers, paul mccartney/wings.

The way things are now is as a result of quite a detailed debate. The Jimi Hendrix example above is missing 'Band of Gypsys'. It's not as straight-forward as it might seem. There are lots of examples that fall into a grey area. I could certainly add something so that you can hide 'child artists' from the list. That way, it might look a bit more how you might expect to see it. The main purpose of the 'container' artist (e.g. Jimi Hendrix) is to show a more accurate ranking for an artist if their output is split amongst different acts.
