- Post subject: A Peep Through A Spyglass: My Chart Building Diary
|
Sorry if I'm accidentally stealing someone's idea, like Dr. Seuss did with all of mine, but I came here to talk, make charts and kick ass. And I'm all out of asses.
This is just a read-it-if-you-want collection of my thoughts to help me with chart building. The lockdown has me bored as fuck and the forums could use some lessons in activity from a mortician, so I'm gonna find some way to put chart building and chatting together in a way that peoplr can enjoy.
I'm on the verge of gaining access to creating custom charts, and I want my first one to be about my top 100 power metal albums. I'm currently I'm doing this very carefully. I'm going through every power metal band I know for this one. I think it will help my year charts if I can focus on ordering albums of scenes and styles which will share years due to time periods, even though power metal is a broad style going back to the 80's.
I'm doing this all on a memo on my phone. I've gone through all the German, Amercan, Italian and Finnish bands, and I'm going to add English ones now. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Not really a metal fan myself, but do really dig your chart. Keep up the button clicking mania to help deal with isolation. See I'm a true introvert, so this whole isolation thing is like a dream come true. You read my t-shirt for the day, that's enough social interaction please... hehe. Anyway, keep it up and yeah I love all the people who like to poo-poo other peoples comments but then have nothing really worthy to contribute themselves. Keep contributing even if the ... bastards grind you down (name that tune!)

Thanks. I'm a huge extrovert, so I'm glad you've got quite a bit to say.
Now that I have all the bands I think I need, I'm working on ordering the discographies. I've heard all the Helloween and Blind Gardian albums (except for that classical one Blund Guardian released last year) so that helps a bit. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

OKKK I don't know what happened. When I clicked on my score a few hours ago, it said I had over 5200 points, which meant I'd be able to do custom charts at the bext update. Now it says I only have 4550. The fuck!? What is that? Now I can't do that power metal chart tonight at all. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Ask AlbumMaster in PM (click messages)?
https://www.besteveralbums.com/userstat...e=Spyglass
If you look here you can see where your points break down - if you noticed this before you'd know where you had points and then the points went away... sometimes points can be taken away if you put something in the database wrong, but spot check said you are doing amazing there, so... dunno.

Did you delete charts and/or make them private? That's my best guess. _________________ Add me on RYM

You mean I don't get points for charts if they're private? _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802
