There we go Laughing. Was thinking that was maybe the case. Didn't want to push anything though.

I've whipped up a watchlist for the poll myself. I want to get around to these during the duration:

Import Export (2007)
Aleksandra (2007)
Tokyo! (2008)

Somersault (2004)
Serbis (2008)
Looking For Eric (2009)
Munyurangabo (2007)
The Violin (2005) (Watched: Stellar film. Definitely underappreciated. Glad I gave it a shot)
Late Marriage (2001)
Map of The Sounds of Tokyo (2009)(Watched: Did not like Sad)
Tale of Cinema (2005)
The Best of Youth (2003)
Go (2001)
Ritual (2000)

Demonlover (2002) (Watched: Did not like this one either Sad)
Millennium Actress (2001)
Shirin (2008)
Mind Game (2004)
Brick (2005)
De Ofrivilliga (2008)(Watched: Bizarre one. Dug it enough, but it won't be making my list)
Whisky (2004)

And maybe Mean Girls idk. I also haven't seen District 9 or Gran Torino.

Think I'll be able to do it. Hopefully. At least a good handful.

I'd also like to note that within a couple of hours of being open, we already have over 300 films on the list.

Likewise with the last poll, here's some full-length films available on Youtube. They may not last the duration of the course, but for the time being they're up.

I think the first four are staples of the decade, and hope people get around to watching them if they haven't. I'm not super happy with the video quality of some of the others (mainly Still Life and The Mourning Forest), but they're rather hard to find otherwise.

I should make clear that, right now, it's probably a higher priority for me to watch a bunch of movies directed by black directors I haven't seen (the famous William Greaves film, Inside Man, Get on the Bus, Pariah, I Am Not a Witch, Touki Bouki,)

BUT I'll get to the 2K stuff soon <3

Dude, the writing on Mean Girls is sharp.

Get On the Bus is my fav Lee film after Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X. Inside Man is 4th.

EDIT: Also, Touki Bouki is in my Top 20 ever. Imagine Bonnie & Clyde if it felt real

Also I think there will be a MUCH closer race between #1/#2 this time, which arguably strengthens the recency bias argument for Parasite having a 600 point lead in the 2010s list.

Strongly rec District 9 of these four. Original and semi-satirical with an overt political message.

Skinny, since you have a Herzog doc on your list, I rec Grizzly Man if you haven't already seen it. All-time great doc.

The first list isn't terrible, though the order's all bollixed up. The Prestige being on there's a little embarrassing.

I have a feeling there'll be 5 films at the top that will be pretty close. Definitely won't be a runaway like Parasite (which, I watched again the other night... it's really damn good...).

It's probably the film I know the most about that I've never actually seen Laughing. Its impact on pop culture would make you think it made more money than Avatar. I might finally cave in and give it a watch, can't hurt. It wasn't a sarcastic endnote or anything, I meant it.

And I haven't watched Get On The Bus, but I'd vouch for the rest. I think you'd really dig Pariah and Touki Bouki. Both are up your alley (and just all-around great films).

And thank PurpleHazel, tallied. Songs from the Second Floor is pretty high on my own list as well. I'm trying to decide whether or not to slip a Dardenne Bros film in my top 100... it would probably be The Son, just not sure if it'll make the cut. The Man Without A Past is in limbo too.
