There was a time i loved U2. I think their debut album is still the best they made. I love Boy, October and War the most. When Boy came out i think it was a sensation. I dont really like The Unforgetable Fire, but The Joshua Tree has some nice songs. Bullet the Blue Sky, One Tree Hill and In God's Great Country. I also bought their later albums, but No Line From The Horizon is the last album i bought from them. Im not interested in new work of U2 anymore. The ones i have i will listen to, thats it.

this album was epic,a juggernaut. it is a masterpiece.
U2 became gods after this release. still sounds great today.
everything surrounding this album was magical.
We had producers daniel lanois and brian eno.
they swept every award in the world.
that music video with u2 singing "where the streets have no name" on top of a low rise building in LA with all the cops trying to shut them down was cutting edge.
these guys were an unstoppable force.
i remember washing my car with this album blasting in the background.
in 1987/88 everyone was a U2 disciple.

If only those who don't see value in this could one day.
And no. Waterboys are solid, especially the This is the Sea album, but U2 has a much more impacting career, objectively speaking.
I'd love to hear the Kendrick Lamar feat. Waterboys track...

Never listened to The Waterboys, probably will now. But U2 are (or in fact were) amazing, and this album is incredibly good.
Where The Streets have no name is one of the essential 80's songs. _________________ All time
