If you hear a vinyl recording on Youtube, did you still hear it on vinyl?
I think there's a spiritual merit to actually having come into contact with the vinyl album, so I would personally say no.
P.S. I changed the title because the original title was going to be the question, but it was too long. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

What is the spiritual merit? Or do you just mean it feels more special when you can have the vinyl there physically?

There's something more notable to finding an actual classic vinyl in person instead of just looking for a recording on Youtube. Doing that is essentially no different from regular streaming. You could look up anything on vinyl, but to actually find a copy of a vinyl album in good enough condition to play it essentially means you're experiencing history. It's like watching a film on a beta tape. It's the earliest form of released music and you experience it the way your ancestors did in real life. It's "retro," for lack of a better term. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

If it's on YouTube, that means it's been digitized and thus lost its analog format. So how it can possibly still be vinyl? Come on, I thought we established something about silly thread subjects over on 'Acts everyone hates.' That being said, I like what that thread has turned into. Keep it going.

While I'm glad you like what it turned into, I have to ask that you please stop criticizing my threads. I don't see anyone else starting a decent thread. There's nothing wrong with an ice breaker thread that has a personal basis. Just because you say they're silly ideas that doesn't mean they are. I think I deserve a little more credit because before I got here, nothing was happening.
If you have a better idea than copy/pasting album coverd, think of one then text me the details. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Yeah I can see that. I would feel more special if I had all my favorite records in vinyl and I could touch them with my own hands (Can't do that with my cd's cause I don't want to scratch them up).
