1. Actually, Naples and Fox News are right with that one, progressivism IS essentially just socialism, or at least, "steps towards socialism". The real question is as to whether or not socialism is such a bad thing - I mean, Denmark is socialist, and they're perfectly content with it.

Progressivism is just about leveling the playing field, so that the system is more fair and there's more equal opportunity.

...that's what socialism is, dude. To be fair though, progressivism isn't as militantly socialist as Fox tries to make it out to be.

Alright. Let's find out. Wikipedia says:

Quote:
Socialism play /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/ is an economic system characterized by social ownership of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy; or a political philosophy advocating such a system.[1] "Social ownership" may refer to any one of, or a combination of, the following: cooperative enterprises, common ownership, autonomous public ownership or state ownership.[2] As a form of social organization, socialism is based on co-operative social relations and self-management; relatively equal power-relations and the reduction or elimination of hierarchy in the management of economic and political affairs.[3][4]

Progressives do not advocate for public ownership (although there are social institutions like public school, libraries, the post office, already). That is the difference.

Public institutions can be classified as public ownership. Also, many progressivists are also advocating for exclusive state banking, which is a HUGE thing for socialists and is the backbone of a socialist society.

Another foolish liberal statement. Conservatives like music just as much as progressives!

"Progressive" and "liberal" are not the same thing. "Conservative" and "progressive" are not opposites.

You can be a progressive conservative, or a libertarian liberal. Those terms belong on a different spectrum that has nothing to do with wing-isms.

And they all like music equally well!
