Throughout this thread I've been really surprised at some of the choices.

I've stopped DJ-ing since, mostly because pop-radio has become absolutely horrible in the past 3 years.

Call Me Maybe, I Love It, 212 & Get Lucky are all excellent choices for 2013 parties though Smile

Party playlists suck for me because you have to make it so that the majority will enjoy it, and I typically dislike the musical tastes of the majority.

NoYesMan, that is an awful party list for the above reason, but I absolutely love it. Props on using the best Sonic Youth song too.

It's not necessarily supposed to be fully dance music, just music that sets a certain tone.

Also, if you guys are complaining about how you don't like the sort of music being played in the playlists at the parties you go to then you aren't hanging out with the right sort of people.

Actually, I would have rather done "Teen Age Riot" or "'Cross the Breeze" but they were too long.

A little side note about doing songs from In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: You like have to use "Holland, 1945" or "Untitled" because the catchiness of the former overshadows the Jeff Mangum in the song. And then there's just no lyrics in the latter. Any other song is just 2sad. Well, maybe not "The King of Carrot Flowers Pts. 2 and 3".

I think that bothered him. You have to bring up ITAOTS every now and then or people get uncomfortable.

I might try to do this in a bit. I've never been to a party and don't really want to, but I might just make a list for the hell of it. Can't I just play Visions by Grimes on repeat? Razz
