I really would like to launch a Canadian album battle but I'll wait until the Aussie one is done.

I am so impatient to know how some of our Canadian musical luminaries will fare when pinned one against the other. Céline Dion vs Avil Lavigne, Justin Bieber vs Neil Young

We ARE the single most musically talented country ever.

DAMN IT, MAN, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT THE 80'S?!

Though during the 80's we did have the Tragically Hip, Teenage Head, Cowboy Junkies, Spirit of the West, Forgotten Rebels, Ashley MacIsaac... um... Corey Hart? :S

Tragically Hip & Cowboy Junkies were both late 80s bands that were bigger during the 90s than the 80s.

Ashley McIsaac was in the 90's (unless you had the chance to know him before his recording career started).

The other bands you name I don't know. Shame on me.

That leaves Corey Hart, Aldo Nova and Men Without Hats as typical 80s Canadian recording artists. Nausea!!!

April Wine was still going strong in the 80s .... I Like to Rock!!!!!

And Celine was learning English but she would not release anything of substance in English before the 90s so we had to live with her on the radio all the time while the rest world was spared her first decade.

In the same way that ACDC or CutCopy are most likely going to win the Aussie one...

I predict a win now for 'Arcade Fire' for a Canadian one..

the 80s were not that terrible. my second favorite canadian band is from the 80s : the so underrated NOMEANSNO
