Alvvays - Easy on your Own?
Explicit administrative rate.
The album became the first in the ratings long before the release.
I will never believe in the absence of corporate support.
Creativity and individuality in such cases is not welcome.
Shoegaze, Noise Pop - these signs act like a dope.

Leila Martial, Francesco Diodati, Stefano Tamborrino - Young at Heart
A clear anti-system bet.
RYM is still unaware of the existence of the album.
A breath of fresh air against the backdrop of a replicated opponent.
All instrumental and vocal parts are in full view.

That’s the first time I’ve heard anyone call Alvvays industry plants.

Do you think he's just voting based on whose label he thinks is smaller?

I guess it's not the worst criteria someone could use, but it does seem a bit off.

An industrial enterprise is a conditional Taylor Swift.
Against the backdrop of bright personalities, an industrial enterprise will be noticeable.
Therefore, inexpressive conditional Alvvays receive the status of a reference.
This is my conspiracy theory, which I do not insist on.
But I need explanations for what I see around.
Conventional indie pop is music accessible to everyone, it's not free jazz, for example.
Alvvays is white noise (without recognizable vocals, melodies, atmosphere).

Indieheads – selective singles ranking July 2022 (Alvvays album announcement).
(1.600) Alvvays - Pharmacist (6/VII)

(0.496) Big Thief - Simulation Swarm (19/I)
(0.043) Braxe + Falcon - Step By Step (ft. Panda Bear) (29/III)
(0.037) Ethel Cain - American Teenager (21/IV)
(0.016) Andy Bell - Something Like Love (11/I)

leila martial is a game-changer for me. she's got an unorthodox, wild and raucous approach to vocals that is otherworldly and unrivaled. one of my all-time favorites and probably the most interesting (to me) vocalist around these days. i think the album as a whole probably works better than any standalone single, and i certainly prefer warm canto or her work with anne paceo, but i digress. still a great performance through-and-through.

alvvays is cool, however corporate they may seem to some users around here. that they're popular hardly bothers me. they really seemed to mature sonically with this record. a lot more depth than their previous work. i really need to spin this record again some time.

voted mine, but i voted alvvays through in the previous round, so yeah, both are cool.

I briefly met members of the band Alvvays after a show once. They were nice. Didn’t seem very corporate to me but what do I know? Perhaps they were just looking at spreadsheets and bank balances once the fans were out of sight.

Easy On Your Own
A potentially interesting song, but how does something come across as so overproduced and yet have such rough sound at the same time?

Young At Heart
Those odd vocal acrobatics can be distracting, but not so much so as to tube all the other enjoyable elements of the song (including the rest of the vocals).

Nod to the latter.
