I do not get anyone (but mainly Pitchfork) who keeps insisting this has lost its luster of the years. If anything, it's become more of a towering achievement, especially in the context of Daft Punk's oeuvre. As the climax of a career, there's nothing like it. Even on its own, RAM is one of the most impeccably crafted records across any genre from this century. There is warmth and life in every second of this thing, and is still loaded with fantastic ideas and homages worth digging into.

It's the furthest thing from original, but it's still a cool album to hear, and it's definitely one of those mainstream ones that actually did the retro-80s disco revival justice without being cash-grabby or trendy. Also, Instant Crush is my favorite song here and my favorite thing Julian Casablancas has ever been on, that autotune is a one in a million stroke of genius. _________________ My Top 100 :

I agree emphatically with just about everything already stated in this thread. Random Access Memories is one of the great albums of this century.
2013 was the year I graduated high school and this was the most hyped and, in many corners, beloved record of the year. Get Lucky isn’t nearly my favorite track on the album but it’s still a tack-sharp pop staple that reminds me of very fondly and very vividly of my life 10 years ago. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
