Reminded a TON of The Beths (which is great, because I love The Beths).

Say no more, I'm pumped to listen!

Also, sign me up! I might wait to check out Sleater-Kinney's new release (tomorrow, Jan 19) before nominating that or something else.

I have given the Marika Hackman album quite a few listens. I cant put my finger ( should that be ear) on it but its just not clicking with me yet. Maybe its a grower. i will keep it in my rotation for the time being. I think I will give the new Bill Ryder - Jones a listen also.

No obvious general picks this week like last week's Marika Hackman and Bill Ryder-Jones. Both of those were fantastic and albums I'd recommend to just about anyone.

BUT,

Plastic Death by Glass Beach

... is a total ambitious & adventurous proggy/emo/post-hardcore freakout. Fans of early Mars Volta and Sunny Day Real Estate should definitely give it a spin.

Feels like the Week 4 pick just has to be The Smile's new album. Thom Yorke strikes again.

100%. May even be the AOTY. Easy choice for my #4 AOTW.

Wall Of Eyes by The Smile

Anyone else have something that may compete?

Actually I have another album for this week. Those who loved that Marika Hackman will probably dig this too ...

Fairweather Friend by The Umbrellas

... is AWESOME and fun and takes me back to the college rock of the late 80s. Reminds me of Beat Happening and Wedding Present with an extra packet of sugar. Who doesn't like sugar?!
