norman, i was thinking the same thing until i got to number 25 and i saw what it said. I clicked on it and its 100 times better than the other 3 songs ive heard from that nub, but its still horrible. Can someone please explain what is going on...i don't really mean that...because of that person being on the list at all, i am done with the list. NO really, what is going on, would even rolling stone or B.E.T. or any hip hop or teen magazine have him on a list. Wtf nevermind.

Also, I just realized (unless I missed it), Yuck's Shook Down is missing  , which for me at least is a huge shocker. I thought it'd be top 10.
And Colin Stetson is nowhere to be found  , but he may get a high slot in the top albums of the year

I was gonna post this  I saw it yesterday and I almost peed I was so excited. 3 of my top 10 in their top 10 and it's certainly not the ones I expected to be. FYI those there are #9 (my #2) I wasn't even sure that they'd recognise it so when I saw it I died. #7 (my #4) Technically the best produced/sung/written song of the year absolutely immacualte craft. and #4 (my #8( I had a feeling they'd rate it just did not expect it to get that high). Absolute Woop for the whole list. This is why I <3 pitchfork. Oh and no GaGa FTW.
The only thing I'd change was that I was hoping Holocene would get #1 (and it's muuuucccchh better than Midnight City in my ears/eyes). yep, very happy. Can't wait to see the albums list. thanks Hayden!

I love "County Line" in Top 10 and even "212", but Super Bass?? Countdown?? Midnight City is a really good song but first place?? Plus I don't know 70% of all these songs...

 That list is pretty........
Like I haven't even heard of most of those bands, let alone albums. Basically, this is how I see that list:
Autopsy - Macabre Eternal = I must listen to that one.
Primordial = Woop!
Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestial Lineage = Same as Autopsy
Disma - Towards the Megalith = Seems rather high. It didn't sound that special to me.
And then a bunch of "Huh? Who are these guys?" And WTF no Great Mass. Screw that list.
Also what's the deal with this Liturgy business? Why are they so special? Why do they and Leviathan deserve their own special citation? WHY AM I SO CONFUSED BY THIS!!!!???

Yeah, "Redemption" was pretty great, I just gave it a listen the other day. Definitely going on my end-of-the-year list.
Also, the title of this list is misleading, as the list isn't a list of metal, only black metal.
Or just made by a guy who loves black metal but hates death metal. Do those even exist?
