Post subject: What would you say is underground music news
I saw Matt from Tabs Out tweet about how there should be a drudge report type site for underground music, and I thought they had a fantastic idea there! Especially since I already do a super basic looking website. So now http://www.endaural.com/ is a music news aggregator page
I'm not doing stuff like linking stories about the grammy's, because for one thing, it feels like cheating to look at the grammys when you're a cultural critic. The grammys are an organization with an impeccable decades-long history of picking the best music and never being wrong, it kinda takes the work out of what I'm trying to do! I could just say that the grammy winners are the best music of the year, and I'd be right, because they won the grammys.
But also, I think that not every website needs to have stories about the grammys. There's probably some kind of middle ground though, because right now I'm mostly just putting up the stuff I care about. But I know there's so many odd niches out there, so I'd be curious to hear some different perspectives on what some recent underground music news would be![/url] _________________ 2023 music critic simulator
I think the best way to find out about underground music is from going to shows. But I've always had the luxury of living in big cities with vibrant live music scenes. Just going to shows and checking out the line-ups of upcoming shows of venues I like.
Brooklyn Vegan's Indie Basement series is a good source for people who like indie rock too.
