don't know who Michael Hurley is. My performing name is Father Time, I even trademarked it.

My personal opinion is, not that much good music is made in this era - especially now as no one is motivated to do it cause it can all be had for free.

Other than NIN and what's left of Sonic Youth, and of course Neil Young, there's no new music to get excited about. but I do understand how kids need to hype up new bands in their own minds. Very Happy

Be real: You haven't bought an album since 2003.

Besides, since when did money motivate a good product?

Edgar Allen Poe made little to no money off of his poetry during his lifetime - hell, his poetry was hardly even recognized until after his death. Same goes for MANLY great artists in MANY great fields, all of them immensely talented and all of the putting out outstanding yet under-paid and unacknowledged work at the time.

But I'll let jaded pricks be jaded pricks. I bet you can't stand the clothes the kids today are wearing either? Ooooh, and their dratted cellular phones!

I buy music all the time but most of it dates between the Beatles and Nirvana. I buy everything Neil Young and NIN does.

but you sound like you're very proud of your generation's music and I'm happy for you. Smile
