Once upon a time, long before I ever came on BEA there was a man who appeared in these forums and just as quickly left and was never heard from again. I've looked back on the great wisdom that he hath left us with and I'm humbled by his greatness.

For within his few, but profoundly informative, posts there lies great wisdom. From him I learned that an album can suck, but still be a great classic. He had the unique ability to somehow manage to contradict himself 3 times in a single post. Very impressive indeed.

Among his staggering accomplishments is the fact that, gathering from his posts, he has seen every band/artist that ever existed in concert. Leading me to conclude that he was not only 186 years old. But that he was omnipresent.

He beguiled me with his personal view that, if you are not an expert in the English language your opinions on music were rendered null and were to be ignored.

But he is gone now and we are left all on our own to somehow manage to figure out what music is all about.

Rumor has it that he has gone back to live out his days in the cave where he was raised and rejoin a pack of Brohios somewhere in the Amazon.

Just signed up here cause I know music. Jimi in 23rd place? Hey what the?? I'm not sure how much time I'll spend in here teaching all of you about music but for the time being here I am. What do you want to know? And don't start confusing the issue by including rap and hip hop artists in this list either. Give them a seperate category where poetry counts since actual musicality almost never exists. With a few exceptions. Let the games begin.

Oh, good. I was hoping someone would teach me about music.

What would you like to know grasshopper?

Oh god, another influence discussion. The most influential rock musician of all-time was Oog, the first caveman to bang on a rock and discover what we now call rhythm. He literally made rock music in its purest form. Everything else is derivative.

For someone who couldn't shut up when I first joined here, you sure have put a fat cork in it and tried to abridge the freedom of other members comments lately. Maybe you should join a cooking class... maybe bone up on your dusting while you're at it too.

I think I agree with you there. That RatFinkNaples must have at least one screw loose and JJ is always up to somethin' no good as seen here from one of her "better" days....

Oh my god what was that screeching mess? You're not saying that this Joanna Newsom song gives you the chills are you? Maybe they are a different kind of chill than the ones I get when listening to a rapturous piece. I liken it to nails on a blackboard. Maybe that can give someone the chills I suppose. Also, I tried to get thru the Suicide song which went on and on and on and on and other than the words which I don't care about, it was structurally weak and obviously repetitive. I thought this forum was about giving us the chills not the creeps. I'm actually disappointed that you guys think that stuff is any good. Unless you're into the lyrics and I'm not. You tell me.

Is it too late to get in on this? I had no idea jj was such an asshole in so many forums! That's exciting to me. Who gives a turd about this more-than-likely bloated, lonely and uber-opinionated baloney muncher. Hip-hop, shmip-hop. She thinks she has an inside track on everything as far as I can see. While I'm no fan of Senor Nipples chart, he more than makes up for that with his calm and rational battle against the perennial elephant in the room known as jj. Since 6 she knows hip-hop. I'm sure us old-timers are really impressed. She discounts the 50 plus crowd as know-nothings while her tiny brain has been absorbing hip-hop from day-one and that's puts her in "the know." As we all grow older, we remember how we were at a younger age. How we, "knew it all". I knew it all. But now I know more. I have more life experiences. In some countries they revere their elders. JJ reveres reading her own bombast while chowing down on another tin of lard.
Oh to be young again and be able to actually think I knew it all when I knew much less. Passion has been replaced by reality. I miss the passion but I don't miss being as shallow as I was then. JJ will get it when she too passes a certain age. Until then, we can read from the collected musings of miss-know-it-all and harken back to better days when we too thought we knew it all. The defense rests.

SamtheMan - similar thing with me bro a few years back. I learnt 'religious beliefs' are part of a persons personality, its not seperate. You cant be in love with someone and at the sametime dislike a part of who they are. To be clear, you can love someone who has a different belief to you, the key is to love everything about that person, including how that person is as a result of their beliefs. ie If she says you cant be together because of her religion, well you dont love that about her do you? (Well I wouldnt) But if she kept her religion and believed you guys could be together despite religion, then you'd love that about her. My advise here is, go back for make up sex, record it on your mobile phone then blackmail her into giving up her religion to be with you - or atleast post the video on youporn.

Well, at least he knew his porn.
