Maxwell's Silver Hammer (Abbey Road)

Within You Without You (Sgt. Pepper)
Sgt. Pepper (Sgt. Pepper)
Yer Blues (Beatles)

It's All Too Much (Yellow Submarine)

I may think that including Get Back, Sgt. Pepper and With a Little Help from My Friends on an underrated songs lists is somewhat changing the limits of the word underrated. Great songs no doubt but I wouldn't call them underrated. You will have to have a seriously good explanation for me to swallow that.

Exclude Friends and Sgt., but Get Back is definitely slightly underrated.

and it gets played on classic rock radio all the time (here). Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on that one. Laughing

On a side note: What exactly is that song about? Confused Seems like Paul trying out John's stream of conscious, whatever falls out of your head, lyric approach.... Or maybe Dylan's? Think

So was Lady Madonna. But how many people know about it, compared to some of their other songs? Another #1 hit was From Me To You, which isn't that popular, is it? We Can Work It Out was also was a #1 hit. But I don't see Lady Madonna, Get Back, and We Can Work It Out being talked about as much as some of their other songs.

Let's see:

On 11 April 1969, Apple Records released "Get Back" as a single in the United Kingdom, paired with "Don't Let Me Down" on the B-Side. The single began its seventeen-week stay in the charts on 26 April at number one, a position it held for six weeks. It was the only Beatles single to enter the UK charts at the top.

McCartney played this at halftime of the 2005 Super Bowl. It was the year after Janet Jackson exposed her breast during the halftime show.

Rated as #41 Beatles song by Rolling Stone Magazine.

41 songs from Great Britain reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard chart during the 1960's. Get Back was one of them.

I think you're losing this argument, Eggman. Laughing

Can we all agree that this thread should maybe be about lesser known songs by The Beatles (maybe songs that could have been singles, but weren't). I was tempted to say Nowhere Man, as I think it's one of their best songs, but that one's pretty well-known so I refrained.

Within, Without You?- yeah.
Things We Said Today? Absolutely.
Rain? Big-time underrated!
Get Back? No! Everyone knows that song and it's a classic rock radio staple!

Not sure about Dear Prudence either. It's been covered a lot. Think

.

Get Back was also one of the last handful of songs the Beatles played together on the roof.

Which was the last time they played together (in public).... period.

Yeah, they also played "Don't Let Me Down" on that one, I think. Let it Be was a great movie!
