people that understand the internet should be writing these bills, not dumb politicians. nothing like this will ever pass because it will never work, and can't be enforced.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean it can't pass in this country. The bills are written by the powerful and very wealthy lobby for the movie and music industries and key members of congress are paid to support it. Without the actions of wikipedia and others it very well might have danced through.

If it would have passed we would have seen that it can indeed be enforced, but not in any sort of fair manner. It would have been enforced randomly in the same way as the witch hunts of Salem and McCarthy.

20% Support SEPA on here

Well, let's think about it.

We need to rule in:
- bitches be trollin'
- most bitches be avoidin' the politics forums

So saying 20% of BEA supports SOPA is a bit of a stretch.

Ah yes, the moron bus has pulled in

I NEVER said 20% of BEA supports SOPA you waste of space.

I was referring 2 the poll Einstein

Go read a book.

Oh, gee, like your using of the phrase "on here" could be any vaguer.

The OPEN act looks better - http://keepthewebopen.com/ - but even if that ever became a reality, we would be a long way away from ever seeing an implementation.

The policy here has always been not to link to any torrent sites, or illegal file sharing sites. I think it's in everyone's interests to back the artists and musicians, and provide an incentive for them to make even more great music. BEA would also benefit if piracy was not quite so prevalent as people would need to buy their music rather than download it illegally.

I don't think any of these acts will be with us in a hurry, and certainly not without the support of internet users and web developers.

Seems as though I missed all this. How is it going down here? I hear there was a fuss over the acts in the title.

To the above question, I would first have to learn how these acts differ from that SOPA. What can ACTA do in a nutshell?
