I remember when my brother first got this record when I was in sixth grade. Even as a little Radio-Disney-obsessed teenybopper, I realized how awesomely funky and mathy this album was.
I'm not a big fan of the lyrics, but otherwise, this remains a prog classic.

"1001 Book tells" : -...to mind on hearing Jethro Tull´s Aqualung - This is Spinal Tap and A Mighty Wind. The former is a heavy metal mockymentary; the latter portrays a fictional folk groups. From Aqualung onward, the Tull often found themselves placed in the ranks of the former genre while drawing their inspiration from the latter. - I think that correctly stated, have fun, too. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNGpsnTCUXM

Excessively, my father own every prog LP that was released in the 70's, and I loved Jethro Tull as a kid because he played them way too often (Thick as a Brick was my favorite album back when I hadn't got my own taste). So listening to Jethro Tull bring back a lot of great memories, but it still doesn't change the fact that the music sucks.
Jethro Tull are quite overrated in the prog scene. I much prefer artists from the Canterbury Scene.

I'm born i '86 so I can't tell, but I believe that international music existed in Norway as well. In fact my father have some LP's by obscure Norwegian blues groups from the 70's who sounds heavily inspired by english prog rock such as Jethro Tull. So yeah, I guess Norwegians knew what was going on in the world as well.

My mom actually stopped enjoying this album the moment I brought her attention to the lyrics ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

Norway and Finland are relatively small population, so the low number of sales at that time was able to rise high on the charts. Some of the progressive rock plates rose up to top 10. For example Frank Zappa discs were higher in Finland than anywhere in the world! Maybe that's why Zappa released in 1988 in a concert in Helsinki in 1974. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNGpsnTCUXM

I just found out that Bobby Brown Goes Down have charted as no. 1 in the Norwegian singles chart
But I believe that you're right: progressive music was popular in Scandinavia. My father have a lot of very obscure and rare LP's from the 70's that I believe are out of print today.
