Here is the final ranking of the top artists. The number in parentheses is their current rank on the Top-ranked bands from Canada page. Artists were ranked first by total number of points. In the case of a tie, they were ranked by highest individual rank, and then alphabetically according to their name on BEA. The cutoff was 6 points, so at least the top half of everyone's list made it in.

Here is the tournament bracket.

You will notice four artists (rank 31-34) listed separately at the bottom. Since these four tied for the final two spots, and I don't want to include people simply based on alphabet, they will compete for the final two spots (#31 & 32 in the bracket). So, I will run these matches first (all four against each other, top two in each list get a vote), and then put the two winners into those two spots in the tourney, in alphabetical order.

What you need to do

List these 34 artists from your favourite to your least favourite. If there is a tie between two artists, just put "=" before the number/name so that I know. What this means is that if those two artists go against each you, you will abstain from voting in that match. If you really don't like or know an artist, feel free to leave it off the list entirely. Also, your votes don't need to be in the same order as your nominations.

In the pre-tourney, the top two of Jann Arden, Metric, Saga, and Sloan would be Sloan (3) and Metric (4). These two would then be in the main tournament, and would go in spots 31 (Metric) and 32 (Sloan) alphabetically.

In the main tourney, match 1 would be Arcade vs. Sloan. Arcade would get the vote, being ranked higher, and advance.
match 2 would be Joni vs. ASMZ. Joni would get the vote since ASMZ is not listed.
match would be Wolf Parade vs. Big Sugar. WP advances
etc., etc.

You'll notice that in instances of a tie (or abstention), both artists advance together to the next round, since they are of equal rank. In the match of two ties (Band/Alanis vs. Destroyer/Unicorns), the higher ranked tie advanced.

I hope that everything is clear. You will have until midnight Pacific Standard Time January 30th to get in your votes by responding to this thread. I will aim to have the results tabulated and posted on February 1st.
