As far as I can tell there's not a single Rap or Hip Hop album in the top 100. What's up with that does noone here like the genre?

Why not?

As much as it hurts to say it, Man, the demographics here on BEA suck. Too many people here seems to be generic indie folk-heads that listen to junk like Fleet Foxes instead of Electric Wizard.

Therefore, instead of giving albums like Bizarre Ride II great attention, they instead rank Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP as the greatest hip hop album, which is a total travesty in my book.

We have the same problem with metal and jazz, though to a slightly lesser extent.

That's not to say this is a bad website, mind you. It's just that, as I've stated in the past, you have to take the charts with a grain of salt.

I can see what Applerill is getting at.

I for one treat all genres with equality and don't have such a concept as an album that I will not try.

It would be a shame if people are coming onto this website and then refusing to make a chart because they disagree with the overall

I predict a huge wave of metal charts will come in the following decade. They'll be everywhere and all over the forum Laughing 20 in the space of a week at it's highest point!

I personaly have 5 hip hop albums in chart, but I agree that not even a single album in the top 100 is a bit rediculous. At least kanye west will may join the top 100 in the futur....

I have never been a huge fan of rap/hip-hop and find it hard to get an album up in my charts. My favourites are narrow in exposure: Hilltop Hoods' State Of The Art and Kanye's 808s And Heartbreak. With the latter, I know many don't really like it but I still put this one on from time to time.
