For those who didn't take part in the the round one voting this round is much easier: you merely have to pick one album/song/video/artwork (out of the nominees that were announced on an earlier thread) that you think is most deserving in each category.

I have yet to listen to St. Vincent but I voted for her in every possible category. Bad practice? Squishy thinks not. The only things I'm invested in are: Shabazz Palaces for rap album; Yonkers for video; Nicolas Jaar wherever he pops up; and Bon Iver for cover art.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Space is Only Noise=my fave 2011 album, in fact, 2010s album!
I know it's supposed to be a "secret" ballot, but whatever, these are my choices:
Best rock album
TV on the Radio - Nine Types of Light
Best rap album
Shabazz Palaces - Black Up
Best electronic album
M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
Best indie/alter album
St Vincent - Strange Mercy
didn't vote for best pop or metal album
Best solo male album
Atlas Sound - Parallax
Best female solo album
St. Vincent - Strange Mercy
Didn't hear all of the nominated albums, so in some cases I'm being a bit unfair. Still, I think it's most likely that things would stay the same even if I did hear all of em.
2nd part:
The most overrated album:
Bon Iver - Bon Iver
Best video
Tyler, the Creator - Yonkers
Best album artwork
James Blake - James Blake
Worst album
James Blake - James Blake
OK so I haven't heard Lady Gaga's album or LMFAO, but I still voted... Probably on the basis of what all three of them are trying to do and how well they are doing it... I think both Lady Gaga and LMFAO put their efforts not in the quality of their songs, but elsewhere. And while this means their songs mostly suck (I did only hear about 2-3 songs from each though), there's still a difference listening to, eg, Sexy and I know it - total trash, but still somewhat fun - and for example Lindesfarne or one of those tracks - trying to be real serious and emotional but ends up being just nauseating to me..
So yeah, James Blake it is, even if I would probably rate the other two lower
Best song
tUnE-yArDs - Bizness
best of this bunch and my 4th fav of the year
Best album
Radiohead - The King of Limbs
It's interesting that even now, no other 2011 album did more for me. Although I have to say that Hurry Up We're Dreaming and especially Nine Types of Light came very close lately. Black Up too...
