Post subject: Songs that sound better acoustic/better "electric"
So I did research Acoustic AND better and didn't see this one... so back off if it is a repeat! J/k
Anyways, the question is: do you prefer a song that has been done both "electric" and acoustic- which is better?
Here's my 2 opinions for now:
Song- All Along the Watchtower:
Bob Dylan- acoustic
Jimi Hendrix - Electric - by far the best version.
U2- Stuck in a moment - electric - over produced and by far not the best version.
U2- Stuck in a moment - acoustic - by far much better than the electric (but toss up between the two when it is live.
ive noticed that shitty rock bands sound better acoustic _________________ "I would expect something wrong with the poll if the chart favorite was not the poll winner" - naples 12-8-11

Everlong by the Foo Fighters. To be honest I'm not sure which I like better, probably electric, but I think it's amazing how different of a song it is as an acoustic track.
This is also the case with Times Like These...it completely changes the song. A lot of times songs that go from electric to acoustic sound exactly the same, just quieter, but I think the Foo Fighters do a great job turning plugged songs into their own animal unplugged.
This is a good version, but the original version is already acoustic so it's really almost the same thing.
How about Guns N Roses "You're Crazy". The version on GnR Lies isn't technically unplugged, but they completely slow it down and alter it. Personally I like the slower version way better. Has more soul.
This would also fit into the cover thread obviously. I love the White Stripes to death, but I think Chris Thile may have somehow made this song even better acoustic/mandolinized.
May have posted this at some point already Deserves another either way.
