Broken Social Scene members are mostly from Toronto, no?
I kinda want to do a city from my "area" of living, but I have a trouble picking just one. As great as the musical scene in ex-yugoslavia was, it's hard to make a really great team of 4 bands from just one city (especially since there are very few bands from who I know the entire discography). If I could at least mix Zagreb and Belgrade, then it would be more awesome. So I'm asking here, if I could bypass the rule and make one team from those two cities.
My reasoning:
- nobody will vote for it anyways
- if people would actually be interested in listening to stuff that they don't know yet, there will actually be 5 really great bands to recommend
- it would only waste one of my spots (unlike if I use both of my spots to make two weaker teams from each city)
- ???
(I also wanted to say that they're small cities compared to those mentioned, but it turns out they're quite large)
Anyway, if I can do that, this is my nomination:
Belgrade & Zagreb:
Ekatarina Velika (Belgrade)
Idoli (Belgrade)
Azra (Zagreb)
Haustor (Zagreb)
res: Prljavo Kazalište (Zagreb)
If I can't, that's fine and I just nominate Belgrade. But I'll think about the two bands to add.

Someone stole Chicago but the team put together was strong enough so I'll let it slide. Since I'm moving to Atlanta I was going to do that instead. Atlanta is pretty weak though so I nominate the nearby city of Macon, GA, a small city of 90,000 people that is (with a bit of squeezing) the origin of these:
- The Allman Brothers Band (although formed in Jacksonville, FL, they soon relocated to Macon, GA, and remained there until the death of Duane).
- Otis Redding (born in nearby Dawson but moved to Macon at age three).
- Little Richard (born in Macon).
- R.E.M. (actually formed in nearby Athens, GA, but both Bill Berry and Mike Mills grew up in Macon).
Reserve: Randy Crawford (born in Macon).

Doh! Just noticed I submitted Chicago, and somebody already did it earlier. 
I'm trying to think of a Spanish team, but where I am, it's mainly flamenco musicians and I'm guessing that won't be very popular.

Well maybe we can do more than one team from each city as long as the artists don't repeat themselves. Guess we have to ask harkan that...
