Shoegaze is one of those genres that I absolutely adore in theory, but am really meh about in practice. I guess that's why I consider albums like Siamese Dream to be so perfect, and think of things like this to be just okay.
Oh well.

In NO way is this better than Loveless 
I don't even know if I've heard anyone even say that before.
But, as stated, the first part was right  Probably the 2cd-3rd place shoegaze band. Up with Ride & Catherine Wheel.

My Bloody Valentine > Ride > Slowdive > The Jesus And Mary Chain > The Smashing Pumpkins (Gish, essentially) > Catherine Wheel

Spacemen 3 is the greatest shoegaze band to ever exist. Flying Saucer Attack beats any band previously mentioned in this thread as well.
