SALFORD, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (manager: mancsoulsister)

def. Oran, ALG (R1)
def. Detroit, USA (R2)

Joy Division
BEA Rank: 27
BEA Best Album: Unknown Pleasures (1979) - ranked #44
A comment from the members of BEA: "I really don't want to analyse my love for Joy Division. I'm too scared of the conclusions I might draw." CellarDoor (05/2011)

New Order
BEA Rank: 163
BEA Best Album: Power, Corruption & Lies (1983) - ranked #429
A comment from the members of BEA: "One of the greatest of their generation and of all time. We're all blessed that they kept moving forward after Ian's death and the unraveling of Joy Division." vesander (02/2012)

Happy Mondays
BEA Rank: 435
BEA Best Album: Pills 'n' Thrills And Bellyaches (1990) - ranked #613
A comment from the members of BEA: on Pills 'n' Thrills And Bellyaches... "Very consistent yet sleazy album. There's no real highlights or tracks that stand out from the pack except for the signature track "Kinky Afro". But you can't really criticise this album as it's so incredibly charming and infectious." mayonaise93 (01/2010)

Vs.

LEEDS, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (manager: mancsoulsister)

def. Chicago, USA (R1)
def. Belgrade/Zagreb, FY (R2)

Gang Of Four
BEA Rank: 206
BEA Best Album: Entertainment! (1979) - ranked #223
A comment from the members of BEA: on Entertainment!... "The guitar and bass works are very direct but not aggressive at all, so I like it for being faithful to what they want to express by the music they made." ilovelctr (01/2012)

The Wedding Present
BEA Rank: 1020
BEA Best Album: Bizarro (1989) - ranked #2504
A comment from the members of BEA: on Bizarro... "There's not nearly enough love for this, Gedge's finest hour. Less jangly than George Best, less morose than Seamonsters and all the better for it." noWaxJim (11/2010)

Scritti Politti
BEA Rank: 1525
BEA Best Album: Songs To Remember (1982) - ranked #3691
A comment from the members of BEA: no comments for this artist

I like the variety in the Leeds team. Leeds it is. Joy Division is the best band of the lot though.

Joy division alone wins it for me, chucking in New Order is just icing on the cake.

Yeah. Leeds is pretty boring. Salford less so. Salford it is. Never heard of the place to be honest.
