Which country has better music, do you think?

Personally, I've always leaned UK.

If you're not sure, actually, even if you are sure, look at the ratio of British to American albums on your chart. It's interesting. I took the liberty at checking them for the top 10 members on this site (and myself).

US:UK

albummaster: 15:12
RFNAPLES: 45:46
Romanelli: 53:31
GARY: 49:39
an_outlaw: 36:53
harkan: 10:60
Captain_Dude: 48:49
Jhereko: 24:20
Bork: 58:31
Hayden: 60:27
revolver94: 33:49

So, by tally of these 10, it's 6 US, 4 UK (with me, 6 US, 5 UK).
Important, though, is that two of the UK charts are only UK by a single chart (RFNAPLES and Captain_Dude), so the results are definitely leaning US right now.

I think the nationalities of the ten members you've picked play quite a big part.

I'm from the UK and my chart is 40:53 in favour of the UK, and if it weren't for hip hop that would be skewed much more in favour of the UK.

You just can't help but be more exposed to music from your own country, and as it's impossible to eliminate personal bias from our charts it's impossible to say which country has produced 'better' music, not to mention that what music people like or dislike is entirely subjective.

That might probably be true for most people... maybe. But.. my chart (private atm because it only has a feeble 19 albums in it hah) has a 10:4 UK advantage so far. I'm from America and good music 'round here is rare IMO.

I could be wrong though, I've always had a vibe that artistic tastes in Europe have been more sophisticated than in my country. In general, anyway.

Mostly because I don't like anything 90's+ from the UK except Radiohead. One of my least favourite music scenes is Britpop/ rock Embarassed

I think all this tells us is that peeps (including myself) need to get into more music not from those 2 countries.

Yeah. That's actually what I've been trying to do lately Smile Listening to Brazilian stuff, African stuff, Central America, etc...

That and the occasional 2012 record is what my musical diet consists of right now Smile
