Post subject: Auto-locking and archiving old threads (part 3!)
Since things have changed since the last poll was created, this is the FINAL vote to decide if an auto-archive should be enabled to archive threads that haven't had any replies within the last 18 months. If there is no clear majority, nothing will change.
All the old threads are at the end of the newer threads. How are the old threads in the way? Should they be prevented from being revived?
I am also opposed to auto-locking; sounds too much like auto-censorship. Anytime one hides something from the public view and use that they did not author, it is a form of censorship. Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body.
Censorship -- the control of the information and ideas circulated within a society -- has been a hallmark of dictatorships throughout history. It is being proposed that speech be hidden and closed, i.e. censored. It's being marked old, out-of-date, not worth reading, dead, etc. or otherwise not worth your time (They know; they are the almighty censors). Old is never new again. _________________ Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by RFNAPLES Bubbling Under The Top 100 Greatest Mus...y RFNAPLES
