All the things I used to dislike about this album, I now find endearing. It makes me happy when I listen to it, and that's all I really want.

Part of my DNA. For me, it's up there in space in the pantheon of the all-time great musical pieces. It was actually sent in space way back in the 1970s as an artefact of human art.
Anyway, what I mean by this preposterous drooling is: I love it.

They tricked people into believing this was revolutionary when in reality it was unchallenging formatted psychedelia cynically calculated to appeal to the masses.

Sgt. Pepper share the same status / problem as Orson Welles' film Citizen Kane (1941). Both have years, even decades, through the declaration of the best in their field. Subsequent generations will wonder about choices. Well, the old union have always trusted to better than a new fashion ... At Me in my ears sounds Pepper, 25 years after the listened years, with musical. It does not adequately reflect the actual band career. "Fab Four" was tired of being The Beatles, and they took Sgt. Pepper break from the subjects. Today, I listen to the disc a couple times a year.BTW, I will not change the Oasis board ...  OK ALBUM.

Yes. I think this ¨album of the day¨ feature is getting really boring. It would be much better with some albums we didn't already knew inside out. Don't get me wrong, sgt. peppers is great (3rd on my chart)!

..........you're actually right for once  I hate how it's got this reputation for being the first concept album, and being the album that changed music forever, or whatever.
Oh, BTW, I like this album, though I do think that it's OVERrated, OVERblown and a little OVERproduced, a bit like Abbey Road. In some places it's weak (I, for one, don't think Lovely Rita and When I'm 64 should've been on this album AT ALL. Couldn't they have replaced them with, like, Only A Northern Song or somethin'?), but in others it's absolutely amazing (the opener, LSD, Within You Without You, A Day in the Life......also, though the lyrics are not that good, the music in Good Morning Good Morning is ABSOLUTELY ROCKING GOOD. With a Little Help from My Friends ain't bad either).

I'm pretty sure people decided that themselves. Since when was this album supposed to be challenging?
