- Post subject: Suggestions for a band name?
|
Hi, friends.
We're forming a new band with some friends and we're planning to cover some classics for some time and then to start composing our own songs. We haven't decided on the name yet and my suggestion, The Door Knobs, has been rejected by my friends, because in their opinion it'll suggest that we're influenced by The Doors, while we're not. Another suggestion was The Escapists and I think it's too explicit and though it tries to be funny, may force us always think about being contrary. So, what do you suggest? because we think it would be great to use a name which is suggested on BEA and the name will have a brilliant story and also it'd be fun. Thanks for your help in advance.

What genre are you planning to play? "Sweet Little Ponies" wouldn't suit a death metal band for example!

You're right; I had to mention that. Well, after "The Cover Phase", we're planning to compose some instrumentals inspired by minimalism, ambient music and noise rock and perhaps including vocals in some kinda baroque rock songs (we have cello, violin and keyboard in the band too).

Sounds interesting! If I can't come up with a good band name, I will at least happily hear your music. The style sounds a bit like Sigur Rós.

Spot-on about Sigur Rós!! perhaps greater use of the guitar. Interesting is that we're trying to create a made-up language to be able to use vocals as an instrument without distraction. I'll be happy to share our songs with BEA members. But it'll take sometime: according to our planning we'll have 5 songs within the next two years.
