Neutral Milk Hotel is the big one but I only really listened to The Beatles and R.E.M. before coming to this site.

This site also really got me into Radiohead - first time I went on the site I'd never heard of them before and assumed they were Motorhead and I was like "Huh - didn't know they were that good".

Also I'd heard of Arcade Fire before hand but I didn't realize they were quite so amazing as they are - I assumed they were just another modern geek-rock band.

edit: I a word.

It's ridiculous how many albums I've actually discovered on this website. These three were pretty much randomly chosen.

I've learned quite a few on this site.

Young Marble Giants - Colossal Youth
Pharoah Sanders - Karma
Pixies - Doolittle
Charles Mingus - Black Saint & Sinner Lady
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Joanna Newsom - Ys
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
Antlers - Hospice
Galaxie 500 - On Fire
Microphones - The Glow Pt.2
Exuma - Exuma

Nick Drake, My Bloody Valentine, The Chameleons & Talk Talk's entire discographies too.

Most of these were thanks to Cellardoor & Purples charts Anxious Mr. Green
