Post subject: If that album had been recorded by somebody else
I've had some fun today with trying to pretend what it would sound like if some albums had been recorded by a different artist instead of the original performer. Here's what I've thought about where I'd think that the artist's sound and style could bring something interesting to the album:
Red House Painters performing Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk
Nico performing Ys by Joanna Newsom
The Stooges performing Suicide by Suicide
Death Grips performing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West
Fennesz performing Ambient 1: Music for Airports by Brian Eno
Tom Waits performing King of the Delta Blues Singers by Robert Johnson
Kraftwerk performing Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles
Some of these might be more serious than others. Any thoughts about other possibilities?
Skrillex- Revolver
Brokencyde- Dark Side of the Moon
Justin Bieber- Forever Changes
Crazy Frog- Is This It
Aaron Carter- Highway 61 Revisited
The Beatles- Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
Pink Floyd- I'm Not a Fan, but the Kids Like It
Love- My World 2.0
The Strokes- Crazy Frog's Greatest Hits
Bob Dylan- Aaron Carter
Catherine Wheel did such a good job with the song Wish You Were Here I wonder what they could do with the whole album? Maybe I'd actually like it. _________________ <(: @ >
