Whatever... Believe what you want. Healthcare will bankrupt the US government and revoke all your freedoms. It's a one way ticket to Stalinist USSR. And Obama is the worst president ever. Rolling Eyes

I'm glad most Americans have figured it out and are OK with moving towards healthcare. I hope that one day all Americans can go to the hospital in an emergency without worrying how much it will cost. I don't need to convince you.

It seems to be a rite of passage on this site to bang your head against a wall while Naples dribbles on about semantics and unrelated details, posting insipid youtube clips and partisan political cartoons while stubbornly digging his heels in.

Forget it. Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. Not talking

Smart Americans realize that government controlled Healthcare is part of the cause of what's happening in Europe. Stupid goverments who borrow to provide excessive services including health care cause debt.

Yeah but you realise that most of Europe cope just fine with universal healthcare, most European economies have a significantly lower debt to GDP ratio than the US. The problem is that you have a group of countries with the same currency and nothing to stop some of these countries from irresponsible borrowing and needing to be bailed out by the others.

If you left Germany, France, UK and most other Northern European economies to their own devices and let Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal go to the wall then they'd all be just fine. It's the obsession with the single currency which is causing all the problems in Europe.

Like I say the major European economies have lower debt to GDP ratios than the US so the argument doesn't really make sense.

Greece 165.3%
US 103%
UK 85.7%
Canada 83.5%

The whole of Europe is paying for a few countries mistakes because of the single currency, basically.

One thing i really don't like when it comes to a fundamental difference between republicans and democrats is summed up by RFNAPLES' many posts lamenting "taxes" and the below image. Republicans care about MONEY. Democrats care about PEOPLE. Which is the nobler cause? Which actually matters??

If you're going to have a functioning Health Care system at all, everybody has to be covered, or else the system is not economically sustainable. Even devolped nations with mostly privatized health care figured that out before us Americans. And a majority of Americans don't like the law just because they don't like being told what to do (in this case the "mandate"), even if it was what we need. While the Mandate is unpopular, the rest of the law actually is, but there's no way to pay for the things people like without the one key provision that people dont like. Given, the Law only partially solved the problem and still keeps the health-insurance system largely big-buisness, but it's better than invalidating it and going back to a system that continues to cost more and more and keeping tens of millions of people uninsured. I dont know, health care doesn't seem like a manufactured product that should be consumed, it seems like a very basic moral obligation.
