I think what this analysis shows us is that, yes, most BEA members have questionable tastes, but at least they're not quite as bad as the general public as a whole.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Coming from someone who has the most one dimensional tastes in music, I don't think your opinion holds much weight.

Disliking something is the listener's problem, not the music's.

I'm interested. What does that mean?

Wait, lemme guess. Something about a person liking only one kind of music, right? Or something else?

Correct. This is a more extreme case where the person in question refuses to admit that any other kind of music, besides the very narrow type that he/she likes, is even respectable.

Neil Yong, Julia Holter, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Beefheart, Rickie Lee Jones, Van Morrison, Yo La Tengo, Doors, Velvets, Ornette Coleman, Hendrix.....Yep, really one dimensional.

Now, before you go any further with your slurs, tell us all how my appreciation of genres as wide ranging as jazz, electronica, avantegarde, new wave, punk, post-punk, canterbury prog, krautrock, singer-songwriter, post-rock, shoe-gazing, dream pop, psyche-garage, proto-grunge, proto-punk, techno, world music, ambient, paisley, 60s psychedelic and acid rock, all of which are represented in my chart, is "narrow".

This should be fun.

Sure, if those genres intersect with the "experimental" side of things. Anyways, my point was not against the kinds of music you like, but your elitist view that the music you like is somehow better than others'. That was my point. I have no problem with people listening to whatever they like, but when you are obnoxious enough to think your taste is the Jesus Christ of music, I'll always make a point of calling you a dumbass.
