The difference in the best albums of all time on this site versus the best selling albums of all time is interesting. It says something about our music culture.

i guess there's a difference between commonly-popular and commonly-revered. Of course, releases during the RIAA's hayday (early 80's to early 00's) have a greater presence due to pumped-up sales.

I actually find that to be an ok album. It's fun Smile Surprised it's not in our top 1000

Saturday Night Fever and Rumours were released around the same time (1977). These were marketed as a record company, thanks in large volumes. Many single release, also contributed to the album's sales figures. In addition, especially Rumours, was long-lasting dumping album. The album had to always be available. How about Grease soundtrack?
