Here's a new an_outlaw rule :

The first to say : "Love The Kinks" or "Best track: Waterloo Sunset" is a drone.

How many pages will this thread last ???

As I was listening to this I was beginning to think I felt about the same way towards I the Kinks as I do towards the Who. Meaning that they've got some good songs, but I think they're terribly overrated. I ended up liking this enough that I don't think they're as overrated as the Who. The record as a whole is helped by the fact that it ends with such a good song. Without Waterloo Sunset I would have looked on this far less favorably.
