Now that I've had a chance to listen I can see how Fever to Tell could be a disappointment if the self-titled EP was the first thing you'd heard by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. However, I worked backwards. My first exposure was It's Blitz so the EP sounds like a band that would diversify later but who are still in their earliest stages.
Ok ill be that guy. I didn't really like this one that much. I'd be ok of Maps was the only song they made. And even it isn't that good
Maybe I'll give it a listen laterz cause of all the support. Buuuuut probably not
I'm worse. The best listen was my first, and it just sounded "meh..." at the time. Each listen since gets worse than the last.
Maps is a shit song to me. OK, it's decent for the first minute, if the song ended there I wouldn't have a problem. I don't need to be shown the same melody over and over again! I heard it already, why am I listening to that song again within the same song?
Really, the whole album is made this way, using the same unimaginative song structure pop artists use. That logical design for selling to kids. If you listen to this album once through, you are actually hearing the album at least twice! Making it get old twice as fast! Verse/Chorus me to death... 2/10.
