I was thrilled to find that my chart had been picked when I woke up this afternoon. Somehow my girlfriend didn't understand the importance. I only wish I'd known ahead of time so I could clean things up a little. I've also been listening to 80s records trying to see if there was anything worth adding because this is almost totally devoid of that decade.

You only have two 80's albums and both are by Pixies (and really, Pixies belongs to the 90's) Smile

I have also discovered that decade lately because.. there must be something good about that decade!

There are actually many great bands from the 80's and you only named two of my favorites. The 80's wasn't a bad decade at all.. it just seems that the other decades were so much stronger (except for the 50's and all previous decades which sucked really bad on the album front, the 60's was the first decade to unsuck)!

Btw.: do you like The Smiths or is it just me?

Just one question, and maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but... The Swizz?

The Smiths were one of the obvious choices with The Queen is Dead being the most likely album. However, I didn't want to just throw that up there without at least listening to Meat is Murder. I listened to Sister and Daydream Nation the other night trying to determine a preference. I'm not entirely sold on The Cure, at least for a Top 100. I dig Jesus and Mary Chain, but don't have enough recent exposure to add them. Other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Did I give that impression? Yeah there's plenty more great 80's bands but these are the only ones good enough to make my chart.

Oh and The Smiths' debut is way better than TQID and Meat is Murder, so listen to that first. Darklands is probably my favourite J&MC but Pschocandy rocks.
