Or something like that.
1.) Keep the usual AOTD the same.
2.) Create a second daily album, maybe call it International Album of the day. The quirk is that the following countries are excluded: USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia (top 5 countries on overall chart).
Would add a more worldly flavor. More exposure to some of the other 190 or so countries. Something new, something interesting I hope.

Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure it will favor little-known bands or music. We will probably see more from Sigur Rós, Bob Marley, Björk, Daft Punk, Can and Kraftwerk than we are used to. If there was made a rule about regular "album of the day"-albums couldn't appear again as "international album of the day"-albums, it would probably ensure more variety that way. _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

"World" could work. It might be a better title. Some people relate "world music" with cultural music genres, though.
@Mother Nature's Son - yea, same rules as album of the day. Variety is good. At first we would probably only see a couple handfuls of the more popular ones but I can imagine it would start spreading out after a month or so.

I support this.
I try to find as many albums from countries that I don't usually hear from, but it's difficult. I recently listened to an album from Iran and loved it.
Brazil, Chile, Bahamas, Japan, etc...all have really interesting music that I want to listen to ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Perhaps a list could only include albums in foreign language, as the Oscars do.

Dunno if you'll be able to stream this in Canada, but I imagine you'd enjoy this radio programme. Lots of jazz, world, funk/soul, hip-hop, experimental electronica. Plus the presenter is just a really nice guy. Figured I'd post it here given he particularly puts an emphasis on international music.
